Me: How was school?
Ada: Horrible.
Me: Why??
Ada: They wouldn’t let me jump in puddles.
Me: I’m sorry you’re so sad.  Did you do any fun stuff?
Ada: I don’t want to talk about it anymore.

Ada: When I’m a grown up my hair will be pink.

Eli: Ninjas are awesome.
Chad: Jesus is more awesome.
Eli: Yeah, but ninjas can jump on top of trees.
Me: Yeah, but Jesus can walk on water.
Eli: I know, but ninjas can be really sneaky.
Me: Well, Jesus doesn’t want to be sneaky, He wants everyone to know Him.
Chad: What would be really cool is a ninja who loves Jesus.
Eli: When I grow up I’ll be a ninja who loves Jesus.

Grace: This is better than Indiana food.
We never left Fort Wayne.


Me: Ada, how was school?
Ada: I don’t want to talk about it.
This immediately tells me she made a bad choice and had a consequence.
Me: Ada, please tell me what happened so I can help you with it.
Ada: I had to get out of the circle.
Me: At circle time?
Ada: Yes.
Me: Why?
Ada: I wanted to talk to Tyeler.
