I have saved and sorted all of our pictures digitally for the 10+ years that we have been parents. Quite frankly I love sorting them by year and then month. This especially comes in handy when I am feeling nostalgic.
With Halloween being tomorrow, I was thinking about previous years’ costumes. I used to pick the kids’ Halloween costumes, first just by what I wanted them to wear. It then morphed into choosing a character from a favorite show for them. Now they choose their own costumes, but still need the Mom Stamp of Approval. This is not their favorite part of the event.
Here are some photos of previous costumes, mainly because I just love looking at them and comparing them year to year. Enjoy.
Here is little miss Grace at 3 months old at a Halloween event at the college we were attending. Yes, you read that right. Also, I had just found out that weekend that I was one month pregnant with Eli. Deep breaths, momma.
Jump ahead to 2007, because apparently dressing up 2 or 3 children at their ages before reaching 2, 3, and 4 wasn’t an option. Where did these little babies go??
In 2008 we went to Disney World, so dresses that could be used there seemed appropriate. And Eli, well, he just really loves John Deere.
And now we transition into the children picking out their own costumes. This is bittersweet for me if we’re being honest.
It’s 2010, and I managed to convince Ada to get the Bumble Bee costume. I mean look at her. Eli’s just happy he has a weapon…
And 2011, the year that I refused to spend money on costumes because they have plenty in the toy room. This is what they came up with and I couldn’t be prouder. I also couldn’t tell you what Eli is dressed as. But he is dressed.
