I’ve noticed that my posts about honesty tend to be on the negative side, so here’s a little something positive!
Grace is in a new independent streak, particularly in regards to cooking. Chad taught her how to make a hot dog, and it’s now her go-to food. (A little gross, I know). I’ve been down for the better part of a week with the stomach flu, and she’s been SO helpful. She gets her own snacks, offers to help, gives me blankets, asks if I need anything… she’s growing up so much.
Eli is (slightly) growing out of his crazy boy-ness, and FINALLY reads a book from time to time! It almost makes me do a double-take when I see him with a book in his hands. He is also starting to use his words more with his sisters (emphasis on starting to) and his hands less. I heard him trying to explain his feelings to Ada today, it was so precious.
Ada… well, Ada’s still in progress. Her stubbornness and calm defiance has sort of stepped up a notch, which I truly didn’t know was possible. I find myself getting sucked into her crazy negotiations because they’re just calm conversations – they don’t feel like negotiations at all! It’s amazing. She’s way too smart for her own good. Her intelligence still takes me off guard on a regular basis, and I almost want to give her what she wants simply because her negotiation skills deserve it.
Anyway, there’s a little update, that doesn’t involve being overwhelmed or being angry with my kids. See??? It DOES happen from time to time. 🙂
