Eli is in 2nd Grade. Our biggest concern with him is that he struggles with reading. Thankfully, they know this and have put him in a reading group to get him the extra help he needs. I don’t LIKE that he needs extra help, but I DO like that they will do what is necessary to get him to where he needs to be with this. I have already noticed a big improvement. His teacher also said he struggles with focusing (Really? ELI?) So he doesn’t have the grades he SHOULD have because he doesn’t always start his work right when he should, or turn it in when he is asked. So, some things to work on. But he is the most polite (politest?) kid in her class and she just loves him. My sweet boy. 🙂 Chad met with Eli’s teacher while I was meeting with Grace’s, so I don’t have much more to share.
Oh, and he keeps making guns and bow and arrow with his hands. Yes, I’ve noticed this behavior as well. If you can find some way to make him stop, do share.
Yay for most polite boy!! That doesn’t surprise me. 🙂 and Yay for reading help!! and Yay for a good conference. 🙂
Isn’t that what they use on Eli and Chad,s favorite video games, guns and arrows? We always played with those things when I was a kid. It really didn’t affect me adversely. (I don’t think!)
Sometimes I think there is too much worry about nothing. Train him in the way the Lord has bent him, and the clutter will filter out. I was taught evolution in school as a kid. (Now that’s something to be concerned about!) But, my parents reaction to a pastor who believed in it, by leaving the church, left a huge mark in my life. I abhor the very thought of evolution! And it was God’s truth that convinced me that evolution was just wrong! (You want to talk about a false religion?)
Anyway, between his great parents, and his grapa:), I know he will turn out fine!
I love YOU!
Dad
