Grace: I wish I was a squirrel. Then I wouldn’t have to go to school. (she said in her most forlorn voice)
Me: Well, squirrels get hit by cars. So school seems not so bad.
Yes, I’m saying here that I’m the witty one. I’m ok with that. Some days I’ve had enough whining.
Allow me to set the scene. Chad and I were in the kitchen, Eli and Ada were in the dining room finishing breakfast. We heard a squeaky fart from the dining room…
Eli: Excuse me.
Ada: No, excuse ME.
Eli: Ada, I tooted.
Ada: Well, I tooted right after you did.
Chad: That might be the funniest conversation they have ever had.
And of course, we were laughing as quietly as we could.
Ada: When my horse has a baby (she doesn’t have a horse) I will name her Molasses. Isn’t Molasses a lovely name? I wish you called me Molasses. You know, as a nickname. It’s so lovely, and pretty, and stylish. Besides, I don’t even know what stylish means!
Eli: Ada, you shouldn’t use words if you don’t know what they mean.
It’s Picture Day, and Eli is wearing his nice white button-up shirt…
Ada: Why are you wearing your fancy white shirt?
Eli: Do you remember Heather and Rich’s wedding? I looked VERY good at their wedding in my white shirt and tux. I was kind of like, almost the star.
tell ada i agree that ‘molasses’ is a very stylish name. 🙂
