My kids have been pretty good lately. They haven’t been fighting much, I’ve been able to just let them play unsupervised, the house is just calmer in general. And then…
Tuesday night we were leaving the house for an appointment and we were teetering the on time/late line. Ada had put on her ballerina dress, and I was irritated that I had to go upstairs to oversee her changing. It was then that I realized they had sprayed her room with Febreeze. A lot of Febreeze. They emptied the Febreeze can (those of you who’ve tuned in for a while remember that Eli has emptied not one but TWO cans of sunblock in the past). Deep breath… I’ll scold them in the car, I don’t have time now. And then…
Thursday night they were getting ready for bed and we found their bathroom in disarray. I was going over why we don’t play in the bathroom, and asked where their toothbrushes are (I’m certain I just heard every mother gasp). Ada said, “Mine’s over here, I was cleaning with it.” Cleaning what? “The wall, the bathtub, the toilet….” Yes. She cleaned the toilet with her toothbrush. So it immediately went in the trash, and Chad told her she would be buying a new one.
So I don’t know what is happening in our home, but I feel like we’re dangerously close to a trip to Crazyland and this momma’s pulling a u-turn!!
You’re missing the silver lining…..there was cleaning going on without you demanding it! That’s gotta count for something, no? 🙂
Kristy, I thought the exact same thing! 😉
OK, but with a TOOTHBRUSH?!?
Grandpa says, “I’m with Kristy”. At least there was some cleaning going on. Buy the girl a scrub brush then, and let her go nuts! I love you, Janna.
