Ada: (gasps) Mom! Where’s Eli?!?
He had been in Chad’s car for about 30 minutes…
Grace: Dad, can you give mom directions, but not in cursive, to the place where you got Eli’s slushy?
Because I can’t read cursive?
The girls are playing with Barbies, I’m helping Ada with her doll’s shoes (this is why I usually just throw them away…)
Grace: Are you coming?
Ada: Yes, someone’s just helping me with my shoes. It’s a giant. I know giants.
Ada: I can spell net. n-e-t
Myah: What about jet?
Ada: j-e-t
Myah: What about bet?
Ada: b-e-t
Myah: What about can?
Ada: I can only spell words ending with -et.
We had supper with Greenes, and Ada and Isaac played family almost the entire time. Ada pushed the stroller while Isaac had his arm around her. When he left for work they hugged. They held hands many times. When we were leaving they gave each other a big hug and Ada went in for a kiss, which Deanna quickly stopped.
Isaac: When we get married you have to give me a ring.
Chad: Someday, before she gives you a ring, you and I will have a discussion. OK?
Isaac: Deal! … Wait, what’s the discussion about?
