Yesterday I took Ada shopping at Toys R Us with her birthday money. She spent nearly every dime of it. But what she bought was a glimpse. A glimpse that what Chad and I are struggling to do day in and day out is sinking in, and making an impact. She bought 3 toys for her best friend Kyra. If she had more money, she would have bought 2 of everything. But she decided on 3 of the toys that would be a gift. Then when she was showing Grace and Eli what she bought, she told them that the Princess crayons were for Kyra too. Grace said, “But what about you?” And Ada replied, “I have plenty.”
I have plenty.
My heart was smiling at that moment. This 5 year-old has a heart that I sometimes don’t. I have plenty.
I’m so thankful for this glimpse, and one more mark in the “victory” column.

Halle and I went to a birthday party at Paige's Crossing on Saturday – just the 2 of us. She won tickets and was able to cash them in for prizes. She pulled me down and whispered in my ear, "Mom, don't tell anyone but I'm going to get something for Sophie." 🙂 shhhh…. don't tell her I just told you. 😉
