My girls, Grace is 3 1/2, Ada is 1

Ada: I’m not funny anymore.
Chad: Really?  Why not?
Ada: Because I’m grown up.
Chad: You are?
Ada to me: Well you’re a grown up and YOU’RE not funny.
Chad laughing: There’s a Wednesday Wit, huh?

Me: Eli….
Eli: What?
Me: Come downstairs and finish your breakfast.
Eli: What??  Grace, how does she ALWAYS know??
Grace: Because she’s smart.
And don’t you forget it!! 🙂


Ada: Why are you erasing those?
Me: Because I made a mistake.
Ada: That’s ok.  God still loves you.


Just as I was thinking this would be a short “Wednesday Wit” Ada pulled through like a champ and gave me these gems all in one afternoon…


Me: Ada, you need to buckle right now!
Ada: Why?
Me: Because I’m already driving and you’re not safe if you’re not buckled.
Ada: I know, I know, you don’t want me to die early.

Ada: Mom, this isn’t the way to our house!!
Me: Yes, it is.
Ada: No!  You’re supposed to turn THAT way!
Me: Can you trust me to get us home?
Ada: If you turn THAT way I will.

Ada: Why are those cars following us?
Me: I don’t know.  What do you think?
Ada: Maybe they live where we live.
Me: Maybe
Ada: Maybe they love us.
Me: ….. maybe……
