Sing Praise

“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.  I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.” – Psalm 13:5-6

Many of you know that in May Pastor Stan had a brain tumor removed, then in June found out it was a stage 4 glioblastoma.  Like many people in our church family I felt many different emotions, and wrote about them here… and here… and yet again here.  In August he returned back to our church to work part-time, and it was really exciting.  It was so refreshing to feel excited about this situation, and I wrote about that too.

Well.  Today I can’t even believe I get to tell you that Pastor Stan had a scan done a few days ago and it revealed that his body free of cancer!!  Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow! (You can read more of Stan’s update here.)  I swear the air was different in the office today after our staff meeting when he shared this information with us.  We’ve prayed for five months over this, and we weren’t sure how God would move.  Stan said that God would either heal him here on earth, or by bringing him to heaven.  What I love about our church body is that we’ve continued to praise God week in and week out while we prayed with sometimes unsteady hands and shaky voices.  We’ve continued to praise God.

THIS Sunday, we get to praise God with our pastor in his usual seat, in remission.  THIS Sunday, will be quite a celebration.

  1. I’m so glad I read this. God is deeply mysterious to me. We simply do not get all His ways. But I know that He is strong and that He loves us. Praise the Lord who is God over all!!!
