Grab a Corner

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them.4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.  – Mark 2:1-4
This is my favorite scripture when I have a sick friend.  The image of friends carrying you to Jesus when you’re sick is very powerful.  Pastor Stan is sick.  He suddenly had to have surgery yesterday.  I’m fairly certain that much of Sonrise Church is praying for him, holding part of the mat if you will.  I’m pretty sure this church family of mine could tear the roof off of any place we had to in order to get him to Jesus.  So grab a corner friends, we’re carrying our leader to Jesus for healing.  We’re going to need a bigger mat for all of these hands.
Let’s pray the prayer Stan always prays, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done.”
In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

  1. The St. John's are holding part of the mat – and carrying our pastor to Jesus – our healer! 🙂

  2. Thank you for helping lift a corner of my mat – I am grateful – and feel the support of so many! This is the beauty of the Body of Christ.
